It was the first event of its kind in the Cayman Islands – a wellness experience for people of all ages. LiveWell, held at the ARC in Camana Bay, brought together an unprecedented collection of health professionals, beauty technicians, spas and fitness experts to chat with members of the public one-on-one, give demonstrations and offer free sessions.

Subjects from esthetic beauty treatments to cancer awareness were all covered on stages indoors, while out at the fitness pavilion, attendees were treated to exciting, energetic complimentary workouts.

Some of the many highlights that Saturday included a fashion show from Isy B. Designs and Sand Angels. Models walked the runway past the lounges as the crowd gathered to watch them walk effortlessly in impossibly high heels.

Other models in brilliantly colored Batabano costumes could be seen throughout the day, a riot of feather and sparkles that certainly added another dimension to the event.

Entertainment was provided by two of the island’s top DJs playing music from open to close, with some unexpected performances from male guests trying their hand at pole fitness in the Quinntessential Fitness lounge.

There was certainly a great deal of interest in the demonstrations, particularly when it came to makeup and esthetics. Some lucky volunteers got the chance to have free botox and fillers, worth hundreds of dollars. Video cameras capturing every moment allowed audience members to have a bird’s-eye view of the procedures.

Even those who did not end up on stage had multiple chances to win spot prizes from the many participating vendors or one of the fantastic gate prizes which were drawn every hour.

Anyone who attended the event paid a $10 entrance fee, with all proceeds going to a charity of their choice. Approximately CI$6,000 was raised, much to the delight of HospiceCare, Cayman Heart Fund and Breast Cancer Foundation.

Everyone walked away from LiveWell with a greater understanding of services and products available on the island, and with many questions answered by qualified and helpful professionals.

“We were absolutely thrilled to see the turnout for our first LiveWell event; not just members of the public, but also our incredible group of health, beauty, wellness and fitness leaders in Cayman,” said Vicki Legge, organizer. “We always felt there was a need for something like this and now there is no doubt in our minds.

“I’m excited to see what our event in 2019 brings!”
