Ad Formats

All ads must be presented in digital format. Film is no longer accepted. All files must be in Macintosh format—QuarkXpress 6 or 7, Adobe Illustrator 8, 9, 10 or CS preferred. Adobe Acrobat PDF files are acceptable only in Press Quality high resolution binary formats. Please embed all fonts and artwork in PDF files.

A color laser proof, all fonts, and all support documents including photographs and logos must be provided with Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop, and PDF files.

CMYK are standard. Special colors are available at an extra fee.
Stock: 100 # coated

Pre-press

Colored Type:
Formulas should be made of 3 colors or less for best registration.

Reverse Type:
A minimum of 6 pt. for San Serif typeface and 9 pt. for any Serif typeface.

UCR should be 300% maximum coverage.

All artwork and photograph scans and digital photos must be in high resolution 300 dpi.

Electronic Transfer

Access our FTP Site from the website ‘www.grandcaymanmagazine.com’ and then click on ‘FTP Uploads’

1. Enter your name and artwork information on the form.
2. Stuff or Zip the file you want to upload.
3. Next to ‘File’, click on ‘Choose File’ to browse for your file. For files larger than 64Mb or for multiple files, use the ‘Use Upload Tool’ (Java required) and you can then drag and drop the files into the window.
4. Click ‘Save’ to begin uploading.
5. When the uploading is complete, you will see a confirmation page.

Full Page

The ad should be designed so that all type and artwork in the ad is inside a 1/2 inch safety area all around for printability, trim and binding. All full page bleed ads must have 1/4" bleed. This means that an extra 1/4 inch must be added all around the trim size (9.5" x 13.25") which makes the final bleed ad size 10" x 13.75". (1/4 inch added to left, right, top, bottom.

Double Page Spread Ads

Double-page spread ads should have a gutter of 3/8 inch on both left and right pages. Otherwise, there is a risk of losing type or other items in the gutter when the publication is bound. Of course, photographs can scan two pages if desired. If film is supplied for the double-page spread, it should be on one sheet of film. The trim size of the double-page spread is 19" x 13.25". The bleed size of the double-page spread is 19.5" x 13.75" (1/4 inch added all around outside edges).

Partial Page Ads

The 2/3 page, 1/2 horizontal page and 1/2 vertical page should be designed to specific sizes outlined above. We recommend that the ad be designed so that all type in the ad is inside a 1/4 inch safety area all around..
